Dr Bhik Kotecha qualified from Welsh National School of Medicine, Cardiff in 1984 and started his training in Otolaryngology in 1987 in Manchester. He subsequently furthered his training at Royal National Throat, Nose & Ear Hospital and at Great Ormond Street Hospital as a Senior Registrar. He has been a Consultant ENT Surgeon at Royal National Throat, Nose & Ear Hospital and at Queens Hospital, Romford since 1995.
He manages most adult and paediatric ENT problems but has developed a special interest in snoring and sleep disorders. Sleep medicine is a relatively new field and has, to date, received very little attention. In order to heighten awareness of problems that patients face with snoring and obstructive sleep apnoea, Dr Kotecha has appeared on BBC Breakfast, BBC World, Anglia TV, The Discovery Channel, GMTV and BBC Radio 4 and has also featured in The Daily Mail. He has published widely on this subject and lectures internationally at European and World Congresses.
Dr Kotecha is a member of Court of Examiners at the Royal College of Surgeons of England and the President-Elect (2008) at the Royal Society of Medicine for the Sleep Medicine Section.
